  • -LINK TO HOMEPAGE NEWSLETTER
  • -SUNDAY SERVICE DETAILS

FRIDAY FEATURE LINK AND DESCRIPTION: Pastor Damen continues the Friday Feature where he invites a local artist to read scripture and listen to our Monday Check-In Bible study chat. The artist then shares a conversation and a piece of art that relates to the scripture and Bible study. This week he interviewed our member Lanae Hall who shared a poem she wrote called, “Rise, Leave the Graveclothes.” It’s an insightful interview and a beautiful piece of poetry, and I commend it to you. Here’s the link, you can listen to it like a radio broadcast or download as a podcast: https://soundcloud.com/damen-heitmann/050820-lanae-hall

LINK TO HOMEPAGE NEWSLETTER: In our Homepage Newsletter this week, I shared that our Session met and decided to continue to suspend in-person worship and church activities through May 31. The opening article talks about what went into that decision and reminds us of all the ways we continue to “be the church” even without in-person meetings. I invite you to read it if you haven’t already: https://fpchastings.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/05.10.2020-Home-Page.pdf

SUNDAY SERVICE DETAILS: We will continue “Stay-At-Home” worship this Sunday. I’ll be preaching on 1 Peter 2:2-10, the passage about cornerstones and living stones. There are a lot of parallels between the context that Peter was writing in and our own context today, and we will tease some of those out and explore them. We have also pulled clips to share of our children’s choir, children’s handbell choir, and youth choir from previous services in honor of Mother’s Day. Those are always really cute!

We will start our worship service at 10:25am Central Time with a prelude, here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/fpchastings/posts/3341681425853178

Here’s the link to our bulletin so you can follow along and even sing along if you are so inclined, the bulletin includes the hymn sheets:

I hope and pray that you are all staying safe and healthy. Take care and have a blessed weekend!

Your Servant in Christ,

Pastor Greg
