Hastings resident, Marion A. “Mary Jo” Emmons, 91, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017, at College View Assisted Living, Hastings, Nebraska.     

Memorial Services will be Sunday, December 24, 2017; 1:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Don Canady officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, Nebraska.  Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church. There will be no viewing or visitation. 

Mary Jo was born February 4, 1926, to Hurbert L. & Marion (Johnston) Ashton in Clay Center, Nebraska. She graduated from Lincoln High School. Mary Jo married K. Franklin “Frank” Emmons on August 17, 1947; he preceded her in death on July 7, 2009.

Mary Jo was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was also a past member of Round Table Club and Lochland Country Club.  She loved playing bridge and was a life master in duplicate bridge, dancing, art, and golf.  Mary Jo pursued her art interests at Hastings College in the early 1980’s. 

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents; husband, K. Franklin “Frank” Emmons; brother, Charles Ashton; sister, Courtney Vickery; and cousin, Marjorie Mengshol.
