Dear First Presbyterian Church Family:

Kili Wenburg joined me and Pastor Damen as a special guest at our Monday Check-In Bible Study Chat this morning. We had a delightful chat about John 14:15-21 which begins with Jesus saying: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” You can listen to our Monday Check-In like you would a radio broadcast by clicking here: https://soundcloud.com/damen-heitmann/051120-monday-check-in If you prefer to see our smiling faces, you can watch the check-in by clicking here: https://youtu.be/dFM33TIJKb0

It was a glorious day of worship led by our organist with hymn singing led by Sue Medsker-Nedderman. We also pulled clips from last year of our children’s and youth choirs in honor of Mother’s Day. I preached a sermon based on 1 Peter 2:2-10 that compared the context of the recipients of Peter’s letter to our own context and reminded us of our call to be “Living Stones.” One line from the sermon was, “Peter gives scattered Christians an identity designed to sustain us in the midst of suffering. Through the writing of this letter, the church that cannot meet together in person gains an identity that encourages its readers to remain faithful even though we may face hardships or challenges.”

I hope you have a glorious week!

Your Servant in Christ,

Pastor Greg
