Pastor Damen is taking a much deserved and well-earned week of vacation this week. That means he left me in charge of the Monday Check-In! So I invited Sara Babcock to join me. Sara is a child of the church who just spent a year as a Presbyterian Young Adult Volunteer in Washington D.C. and will be starting seminary in the fall. Sara will be preaching and leading worship with me on Sunday, so we did the Monday Check-In together, a short bible study chat on Acts 1:1-14, the story of the Ascension of Jesus. SUNDAY SERVICE RECAP AND LINK
We had another GLORIOUS day of worship on Sunday. Our music was led by our amazing organist Linda and the Oliver Family. They helped lead the hymn singing and the Oliver girls also provided some special piano music for the Prelude, Introit, Offertory, and Postlude. Our remarkable Director of Christian Education, Steph Brader, joined us to say THANK YOU to all of our Christian Ed volunteers. She put together a really beautiful video of the kiddos sharing what they liked about our Christian Ed programs and saying thank you to the volunteers. Pastor Damen preached a faithful and thought-provoking sermon on John 14:15-21, which begins with Jesus saying, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments,” and talks about the gift of the Holy Spirit.
