Help for Furloughed Federal Workers in South Central NE

Dear furloughed federal workers in South Central Nebraska:

On Saturday, 1/19, First Presbyterian Church of Hastings and First United Methodist Hastings Nebraska will be doing the United Harvest Mobile Food Pantry distribution in the First Presbyterian Church Annex (the old Middle School annex). You are welcome to come by for a free distribution of food that typically amounts to about 1 weeks’ worth of groceries (depending on your family size.) The distribution usually includes canned goods, meat and fresh produce. Below are the English and Spanish links to the schedule for what time to come to the parking lot based on your last name.

In addition to this monthly mobile food pantry distribution, there are also other food/nutrition resources in our community including:
–Free daily sack lunches from Catholic Social Services (CSS), 333 West 2nd Street, Hastings, NE 68901
–CSS Food Pantry by appointment, call (402) 463-2112
–Visit a local church or social service agency to get a referral to the Hastings Food Pantry for a food box distribution (allowed once per quarter)
–Go to Crossroads Center in Hastings or Kearney for a free hot lunch or dinner:
