Adult Sunday School

Two on-going adult Sunday School classes are available:  Heirs Apparent and The Forum.

Heirs Apparent Class

The “Heirs Apparent” class is a small group characterized by intimacy and warmth born through many years of study together.  The class is led by Curtis Reimer and features relaxed, pressure-free discussions that have attracted over the years a mix of ages and backgrounds.  The group utilizes mostly DVD-based studies on various biblical topics and how they apply to life and current times.  The group is currently (through October 7, 2018) using a series called “Unafraid: Living with Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times.”  Newcomers are welcomed anytime!  Find this group in the Anderson Conference Room, 9:15-10:15, Sunday mornings.

The Forum

“The Forum” features a wide variety of topics and presenters.  The group makeup varies widely from week to week, and newcomers are always welcome to check it out!  Each Sunday’s class is self-contained, so participants can pick and choose from the class selections, the collection of which provide a balanced offering of topics that are action-oriented, Bible-focused, contemplative, and/or discussion-rich.

Use buttons to the right to access video of past Forum classes (green buttons for 2018-19 classes; white buttons for 2017-18 classes; blue buttons below for 2016-17 classes).

Weekday Bible Studies

Tuesday Noon Bible Study

Each Tuesday at noon, a group gathers to study the scripture passages to be used in the following Sunday’s worship service.  Meeting weekly in the Anderson Conference Room, this group provides an excellent opportunity to enhance one’s experience of Sunday services.  Led by Pastor Greg.

[email protected]

[email protected] is a welcoming group currently studying and discussing a book entitled Days of Awe and Wonder, an anthology of speeches by the late theologian Marcus Borg.  Meeting on Wednesday mornings at 7:00 a.m. in the Parlor, the group participants take turns providing breakfast, creating an atmosphere of hospitality conducive to spiritual/intellectual growth.

Other Adult Opportunities

Soup Group

Lunch, fellowship, learning, and fun!  Join the Soup Group every 1st and 3rd Thursday, noon-1:00, in the Library.  The Fall 2018 theme is Self Care, so each gathering features robust discussions springboarding off of TED talks on various self care topics.  Women of any age and from any denomination will enjoy the fellowship and information sharing in this group.

*Free childcare is provided with reservation by noon on the Tuesday prior to the gathering.

*Bring a sack lunch if you wish.

Presbyterian Women

All women gather on the first Wednesday of each month at 11:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall for lunch and program.  On the third Wednesday of each month, small groups (“circles”) meet for Bible study.  The 2018-2019 study is entitled God’s Promise: I Am With You.  Learn more about the Presbyterian Women’s gatherings and projects at the “Presbyterian Women” link on our “Ministries” page.

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction sessions with Spiritual Director Kili Wenburg are available by appointment at no cost to church members.  These 45-minute sessions provide one-on-one support for spiritual growth and can be helpful for individuals at any point in the spiritual journey.
