The official women’s organization in the

Presbyterian Church USA

Moderator: Mary Fisk (2023)

PW Luncheons

On the first Wednesday of the month in February, March, April, May, September, October, November, and December at 11:45 a.m., women and guests of First Presbyterian meet in the Fellowship Hall for food, fellowship, and informational and inspirational programs on a variety of topics.  All women of the church and guests are welcome!

Circles – Fellowship and Bible Study

PW Circles are the mainstay of our study and prayer life. There are three circles. Two meet in the morning and one meets in the afternoon, all on the third Wednesday of each month. The morning circles usually meet in the homes of members, and the afternoon circle meets at the church.  All circles follow the PW Bible Study.  Each circle also participates in the Fellowship of the Least Coin, an international, ecumenical women’s group which collects the least coin of member countries to use in mission projects. Calling on the home-bound and pledging for mission work are also part of circle life.

Quilting Group

Works on mission projects each Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the church annex (SE entrance). Join us, All are welcome!

Caring Visitors

Call on shut-ins on the fourth Wednesday of each month, although the days are subject to change.

Shawl Ministry – Fellowship of the Cloth

Care and the love of knitting (and crocheting) have been combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are knitted into every shawl. The knitter begins each shawl with prayers for the recipient. Intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. When the shawl is completed it is offered a final ritual before being sent along its way.

  3.  To work for justice and peace,
  4. and To build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
