Hastings resident, Donald R. Whitcomb, 74, passed away suddenly Friday, July 13, 2018 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church, Hastings with Rev. Greg Allen-Pickett officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Military Honor Guard will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Don was born June 23, 1944 in Hastings, Nebraska to Merton & Doris (Rider) Whitcomb. He graduated from Hastings High School and Kearney State College. Don married Sally Ochsner on December 9, 1965.  Don served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1969, completing a tour in Vietnam.  He was President of Red & White Transfer where he worked for 49 years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hastings, BPO Elks and Eagles.  Don’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sally; brother, Robert Whitcomb; and infant son, Jeffery Whitcomb.
