The Monday Check-In is an informal Bible study chat with Pastors Damen and Greg.
They reflect on the scripture that will be preached on the following Sunday.
This week it is 1 John 4:7-21 which includes these powerful lines:
God is love. We love because God first loved us.
Those who say, "I love God," and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars;
for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.

We have a bonus video to share with you this week.
At the close of the worship service every Sunday since the start of the pandemic in 2020,
Pastors Damen and Greg have sung the first verse and chorus to the song “We are the Church” by Avery and Marsh
to remind our beloved community that the church is alive and thriving even when we can’t gather in person. This last Sunday, 4/25/21, the Chancel Bell Choir returned to in-person worship for the first time in 13 months. Dr. Byron Jensen, the director of the bell choir, surprised Pastors Damen and Greg with an arrangement of the song he wrote and the Chancel Bell Choir played.

Here’s a link to watch this really moving tribute: https://youtu.be/29WeAAc8eHM

Here are the lyrics to the song:
The church is not a building
The church is not a steeple
The church is not a resting place
The church is the people
I am the church!
You are the church!
We are the church together!
All who follow Jesus, all around the world!
Yes, we're the church together!
